What do you know about the ongoing Global Water Crisis?
Fast facts:
1. More than 800 million people lack basic drinking water access
2. 6x the population of the US lives without a household water connection
3. More people die from unsafe water than from all forms of violence, including war

This spring, the Green Team is partnering with Gravity Water, a non-profit dedicated to increasing global clean water access for schools through rainwater harvesting, storage, and filtration systems. We are running a fundraiser campaign to build clean water systems for students at the Tả Củ Tỷ 2 Primary and Secondary School in Bắc Hà, Vietnam. For just $8, you can provide a child with safe drinking water! Totally worth it.

Learn how you can contribute to the campaign HERE!

Unraveling the Mysteries of the Standard Model with Particle Physics Lecture by Christian Bauer
What: Physics LectureWhen: Friday, February 5, 2021Time: 3:30 p.m. Pacific Time
About: Three of the 4 fundamental forces (all except gravity) are explained incredibly well by a beautiful theory called the Standard Model. Despite its great success, the Standard Model fails to explain several important phenomena, such as the existence of dark matter and the fact that we observe no anti-particles in our everyday lives. What’s wrong?

Every meal counts! That’s why we’re excited to bring Meatless Mondays to Berkeley Schools! Meatless Monday is a global movement that encourages people to reduce their meat consumption by not eating meat on Mondays, something that we would love to inspire in our Berkeley community. Starting on the 25th, we’ll be sharing information about how eating less meat can make a difference for our earth, our animals, and our bodies. Check out our daily posts on the leadership Instagram, @Juicethejackets, and look out for Meatless Mondays starting February 6th. Join us in bettering our world one meat-free meal at a time!  Stay tuned, and stay sustainable! Schedule:  Tuesday – EnvironmentWednesday – Animal WelfareThursday – Personal HealthFriday – looking forward… how to participate in Meatless Mondays in the future! Check out Meatless Mondays here: https://www.mondaycampaigns.org/meatless-monday  Submitted by Zoe Creane
