Donate to the 2023 BHS Prom

Dear Berkeley High Parents and Guardians,

As the 2023 Junior & Senior Prom approaches on March 25th, we are requesting that families who have the means to donate do so to help us lower the price of tickets for all students. To cover the costs of prom, we may have to charge up to $80 for each regular ticket. This is a significant amount of money, especially when there are other costs associated with the event (formal attire, transportation, hotel rooms, etc). Senior Class Leadership has fundraised over $10,000 for the event and obtained a grant to lower the price of tickets to $40 for students that qualify for free or reduced lunch. Still, we are concerned that the cost of tickets is a barrier for many students who wish to participate.

Please help us make the 2023 Junior & Senior Prom an inclusive event that all BHS students can attend.

In order to lower the ticket prices to a more reasonable $70, we are attempting to fundraise another $8,000. You can donate at this link through BHSDG.

We look forward to sending the Class of 2022 off in style!

Class of 2021 Senior Information

Info about resources, events, and contacts will be shared constantly over the next few months.

Class of 2021 Senior Letter – frequently updated doc. Please refer to the Senior Letter to stay up-to-date as it is always the best first place to look for anything regarding graduation, diplomas, transcripts, activities, and other end-of-the-year items.

Senior Portraits – BHS Yearbook will accept up to 2 pics following these specific guidelines (linked here) by November 30. Although we won’t have the convenience of LifeTouch taking portraits on campus, each senior is essentially being allowed to find their own photographer. Although it may not be as convenient as on-campus pics, there are benefits such as having more control over the time, date, styles, safety protocols, and cost. It is not a perfect solution, but everyone is adapting as best they can to the tremendous amount of uncertainty regarding plans even one month out from now. And this could all change in the spring, but for now BHS Yearbook has fairly strict deadlines to ensure that they can put together a yearbook by the end of the school year. If you do not submit a senior portrait, we will use your junior year photo instead.

If you have questions please dm on Instagram @berkeleyearbook or email bhsyearbook@berkeley.net. Submit photos on eShare.

Roots and Shoots – Local photographer that is offering socially-distanced portraits for a fee as early as this weekend.

Cap & Gown Orders – If you would like to take and submit a senior portrait in your Class of 2021 cap, gown and tassel, then order soon! Achievers Inc. is accepting orders online, over the phone or by mail. As soon as you order your cap and gown or announcements, class rings and other grad items, they will ship it directly to your home when they begin shipping on October 26th via FedEx.

Senior Sunrise & Spell-Out Photo

On Friday, October 16, our seniors will have their moment in the sun — literally — when the Class of 2016 gathers for the first-ever Senior Sunrise!

This is a new tradition at BHS; we want to bring every senior together to enjoy a fall sunrise from the Seniorsteps on the day in October that matches their graduation year. Morning refreshments will be available starting at 7:00 a.m., and at 8:00 a.m. we will organize for the Senior Spell Out in the courtyard. Photographers will be on hand to capture this special moment, and we will share the Senior Spell Out photo on the BHS ASB (Associated Student Body) Instagram and Twitter feeds. Join us, Seniors, for this special event!
