Crystal Rigley

My name is Crystal Rigley and I love teaching at Berkeley High School. The students in Academic Choice are incredibly diverse and bring so much to the classroom; they are a true joy to teach.

I moved to teaching after a career in wealth management. I loved working in the Stock Market but felt there was a huge disconnect between education (high school and college) and what is needed to succeed in the business world. I decided to do a career change so I could teach students about personal finance (budgets, credit cards, investing, etc) and help bridge the gap between school and real life. I think it is a crime that students leave high school without understanding basic personal finance. I have been fortunate enough to teach AP Macroeconomics where we can squeeze in 3 weeks of personal finance. I also teach World History which I have come to love because of the cause and effect relation and connection to current day.
